Our Story

The Red Carpet Incentives

Our co-founders, Caron and Peter have been working together for over 30 years, starting out on the leisure side of the travel industry. In 2000, a client approached them about putting together a national conference for a music industry event for 500 guests. Despite minimal experience in the events world, Caron and Peter said “yes” and dove headfirst into the crazy world of event planning.

Over the years, they began to focus their travel business on corporate incentive groups and expanded further into meetings and events. In 2011, Caron and Peter decided to make the transition official and went into partnership, opening Red Carpet Incentives.

Their shared history helps make the planning stages of events an intuitive process where they are able to complement each other’s strengths, and work together seamlessly. The addition of Katie as a permanent member of the Red Carpet Incentives family has added to our team approach to all of our clients’ events. Every event we work on is a collaborative process between our team and yours.

Our Team

Peter Crone, Co-Owner

Peter Crone

Peter studied urban planning and geography at the University of Western Ontario, but when he graduated, he was presented with a completely different opportunity. He bought a travel agency at the age of 23 with little knowledge of the industry and started on a journey of learning, experiencing triumphs and challenges along the way. He grew the company and guided it with the assistance of some of the best organizations in the travel industry, including American Express and Carlson Wagonlit. Peter became interested in the concept of corporate group travel, resulting in the sale of his travel agency in 2011 and the establishing of an independent meeting planning and incentive travel company in partnership with Caron, his senior employee.

If he is not in the office during the warm weather months, there is a very good chance that Peter is on a golf course, or enjoying the outdoors with his wife on their kayaks or bikes. Winter is travel time and, be it personal or business, heading south is always on the agenda. He has had many opportunities to travel to interesting places all over the world, but trips to the Malaysian island of Borneo and the Amazon Basin in Peru stand out as favourites. His connection with urban planning remains in his love for traveling to cities around the globe.

“Meeting with clients both old and new and building those relationships is what motivates me. The most valuable lesson I have learned is the importance of being on-site with a group at the destination. Even the best planning can be undone quickly if the planner is not there to deal with changes and unexpected issues. An on-site representative can also take advantage of unexpected opportunities that present themselves. Having that person to act on your behalf while you conduct your business or enjoy time by the pool is invaluable.”

Caron Lusk

Caron started her career in travel right out of college and always loved the planning aspects of putting together dream itineraries for her clients. She now extends that vision to planning the perfect incentive trip or corporate event. A natural organizational ability helps Caron excel in keeping track of all the various tasks required in managing multiple events.

Away from the business, Caron loves spending time with her large extended family who are scattered throughout Canada and the United States but tend to gather as much as possible in Nova Scotia for family reunions.

Caron has been fortunate to travel to some amazing destinations around the world. Her most memorable travel experience was piloting an America’s Cup yacht under the Auckland Harbour Bridge during a visit to New Zealand, definitely one of her favourite places!

Caron Lusk, Co-Owner

“One of the biggest surprises over the past few years with Red Carpet Incentives is my involvement in the IndyCar racing world. I enjoy working with Dalton Kellett in helping to facilitate the logistics needed in planning the traveling schedule for his racing season. As a self-professed bookworm, the last thing I ever expected was how much I would come to love the excitement of the IndyCar racing world. I can’t believe how much racing knowledge I have acquired just by being on the sidelines as an avid follower of Dalton’s racing career!”

Katie Crone, Project Coordinator

Katie Crone

Project Coordinator

Katie is the newest addition to the Red Carpet Incentives team. She joins the team with a background the fashion industry, where she honed her sharp eye for detail and became a multitasking pro. As Project Coordinator, she keeps the rest of the team on track and our events running smoothly.

When Katie isn’t researching destinations and fine-tuning itineraries, you can find her at home in downtown Toronto, traversing the city in her personal mission to crown Toronto’s best pizza, and stretching patio season as long as possible.

When travelling, Katie is always on the lookout for local hidden gems and unique experiences. One of her favourite travel experiences was attending “La Bienal” Flamenco Festival in Seville, Spain and learning Flamenco dancing from professional dancers.

“The most important thing I’ve learned from doing events is that no matter how detailed your plans are, there will always be something that doesn’t go your way. My motto is to expect (and prepare for!) the unexpected and always know when it’s time to throw your Plan A out the window.”
